Innovative Technology that Enhances Asphalt Compaction Quality
Modesto-based G4 Technologies is revolutionizing California’s asphalt paving industry with RTDensity™, a smart system that estimates asphalt compaction during construction. Already improving roadway quality throughout the Sacramento area, this technology delivers real-time density data that helps contractors achieve optimal compaction results.
RTDensity™ combines sensors with powerful machine learning to transform your existing equipment. The retrofit hardware measures temperature, location, and vibration patterns, using these inputs to estimate density with remarkable accuracy. This immediate feedback allows crews to make adjustments that significantly improve pavement quality and longevity.

What makes RTDensity™ particularly valuable is its compatibility with any steel drum vibratory roller in your current fleet. No need to purchase new equipment—simply upgrade your existing rollers and start delivering better results immediately.
OUR HISTORY
Our journey began several years ago with sponsored pavement research at the University of Nevada, Reno and a goal to reduce the costly, time-consuming challenges of traditional asphalt density testing. By pioneering the use of advanced machine learning algorithms in asphalt construction by estimating asphalt density through vibration pattern analysis, everyday construction equipment is transformed into sophisticated data-gathering instruments equipped with temperature sensors, GPS technology, and advanced accelerometers. The innovative system utilizes artificial intelligence and pattern recognition techniques to associate specific vibration signals with precise density measurements in a comprehensive, easy-to-read map.
Today, RTDensity™ operates under an exclusive licensing agreement with G4 Technologies Inc., while the State of Nevada holds the patent, ensuring this groundbreaking technology reaches construction professionals backed by decades of industry expertise and continued technology.

Features
RTDensity™ collects data through vibration and temperature sensors and uses machine learning to estimate density to within 1% of core samples.
RTDensity™ displays estimated density along with other critical process parameters, such as mat temperature and roller speed, directly to the operator in real time.

Provides complete coverage maps and reports in a CAN Bus-integrated system.
